Keynote Presenters

Day 1 - Jo Mascorro

Ms. Jo Mascorro is an independent consultant who provides training throughout the nation in areas specific to pro-active behavior intervention practices, communication strategies, parenting skills, and programming for students who experience severe/profound disabilities (birth-adult).  In addition to requests for speaking engagements as a keynote and/or breakout presenter, Ms. Mascorro is frequently called upon to write FBA’s (Functional Behavior Assessments), BIP’s (Behavior Intervention Plans), and provide information that assist administrators with creating proactive interventions and/or crisis management teams, for students whose behaviors are highly disruptive to the learning/teaching environment.  

She has over 42 years of experience in the field of Education and received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Texas Tech University.  Author of the three-part, audio CD series, “Don’t Look Now.  YOUR Behavior is Showing!”, Ms. Mascorro is a native Texan, and resides in San Antonio.


Day 2 - Dr. Sarena Shivers

Dr. Sarena Shivers provides support to the MASA Executive Director and leadership for MASA’s professional development programming. She brings more than two decades of experience to the role, having served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent, most recently at the helm of Redford Union Schools.

In 2014, Dr. Shivers received the S.L. Roberson Community Leadership Award – the highest award the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office bestows on a civilian– and in 2018, Dr. Shivers earned the Redford Community Foundation Service Award. She was named to Michigan’s Crain Notable Women in Educational Leadership in 2019.


Day 3 - Roger Crawford

Sports Illustrated has named Roger Crawford as "One of the most accomplished physically challenged athletes in the world." In recognition of his extraordinary athletic achievements, he was given the prestigious ITA Achievement Award, presented by the International Tennis Hall of Fame. 

After realizing tremendous success on Center Court as a  Division 1 athlete, he took his talents to Center Stage and became a motivational speaker. Roger's transformational message gives organizations the ability to decrease excuses,  increase results, and breakthrough self-imposed limitations. His  remarkable life story is a powerful example that "challenges are  inevitable, defeat is optional!" 

He is the host of the weekly feature Motivational Mondays with Roger Crawford, which can be seen  worldwide on Tennis Channel. 

Roger has been inducted into the National Speakers Association Hall of Fame in recognition of his  professional success. As a member of the Hall of Fame for People with Disabilities, he shares this  impressive distinction with fellow honorees such as Christopher Reeve, Helen Keller, and former  President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. 

You may have seen Roger Crawford interviewed on CNBC, Good Morning America, Monday Night  Football, The Today Show, and many other prominent television programs. 

The print media has profiled Roger in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Men's  Fitness, Fast Company, and Tennis Magazine.
